Cathy Scarlatos, Owner, Director
A former teacher and tutor, Cathy Scarlatos has more than 15 years of experience in education. For the past eight years, she has specialized in providing tutoring and test preparation services for students and adults.
In 2006, Cathy opened A Plus Tutoring Services in Melrose, Mass., a locally operated learning and tutoring center that employs educational professionals and provides a wide range of academic services.
After teaching and tutoring in the Melrose public school system for four years, Cathy served as Supplemental Services Director at the Advanced Schools and Learning Center in North Andover, running an after-school program that provided tutoring and test preparation.
She then became Area Director at ClubZ, the country’s largest in-home tutoring service, before starting her own program in 2006.
Cathy has a Master’s degree in Education from Lesley University and a BA in Marketing and
Management from Northeastern University.
A Plus Tutoring staff
A Plus tutors are certified Massachusetts teachers or degreed professionals, currently working in an educational environment using the Massachusetts State Frameworks as a basis for instruction.
Our tutors are skilled in all core subjects and sciences as well as eight foreign languages. In addition, A Plus Tutoring Service offers preparation for all major tests, including:
